Osi Umenyiora joins Kurt Warner in saying he wouldn't want his kids to play football because it's dangerous. I could see their point if it were anytime in history prior to about 2009. But the awareness for head injuries, equipment advances, rules changes and the dying notion of playing through "dings" and "bell rings" that exists currently makes football safer now than it's ever been. Is it without health risks? No. Nor are skiing, lacrosse, skateboarding, baseball or mowing the lawn.
