Uno Sports Tonight: Salty out, Napoli in?

Share

This is shaping up to be one of those "It's not you, it's me situations."

The Red Sox have three catchers right now -- Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Ryan Lavarnway and David Ross -- and they'll have to get rid of one, it appears. And it appears as though Saltalamacchia will be the one to go.

It's not that the Red Sox hate him on their roster. It's that their pitching stinks, and to help it improve they need a receiver who is good at managing games and handling arms.

Not necessarily Salty's strong suit.

"I don't think it's about catching so much as it is about pitching," Steve Buckley said on Uno Sports Tonight. "They have to do everything they can to help the pitching staff."

Watch the video above to see what Buckley thinks the Red Sox might receive in return if they decide to deal Saltalamacchia. (SPOILER ALERT: It ain't much.)
