Kevin Walsh has the headlines and highlights for Saturday, April 27th, including an ugly Game 3 loss for the Celtics that puts them on the brink of elimination.

* The Celtics had the best possible chance for a win in Game 3. They were at home. They had an energized crowd. They had a sense of urgency.

None of that was enough to give them a prayer against the Knicks as New York took a 90-76 win. With the win, the Knicks take a 3-0 series lead and put their heels on the throat of the Celtics.

J.R. Smith was ejected after drawing a flagrant-2 foul for an elbow to Jason Terry's head.

* The Patriots on Friday made their first selections of the 2013 NFL Draft.

In the second round, the Patriots selected OLB Jamie Collins and receiver Aaron Dobson.

In the third round, they took cornerback Logan Ryan and safety Duron Harmon.

* The Red Sox bashed 17 hits against the Astros, with David Ross collecting four of them, including two home runs.

Jacoby Ellsbury stole his 200th base in the 7-3 win.
