Top of the morning: C's play on, Sox sweep, Bruins lose

The Celtics staved off elimination in Game 4 of their NBA Eastern Conference playoff series with the Knicks by re-grouping in overtime and winning, 97-90. Game 5 is Wednesday night in New York.

The Bruins dropped their regular-season finale to the Ottawa Senators 4-2 at TD Garden. That drops the B's into the fourth seed in the Stanley Cup Eastern Conferenc playoffs. They'll open at home Wednesday against the No. 5 seed Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Red Sox improved the best record in baseball to 18-7 as John Lackey made a sucessful return to the mound in a 6-1 victory that complete a four-game sweep of the woeful Houston Astros at Fenway Park.
