Mike Giardi has the headlines and highlights for Monday, April 1 on CSNNE.com's SportsNet Central Update.

The Red Sox will kick of the 2013 season today in New York, and rookie Jackie Bradley will be taking the field for the Sox and playing in left field.

Hopefully the Sox have better luck in New York than the Celtics did Sunday night, as they were blown out by the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, 108-89. Boston has a chance to bounce back Monday night in Minnesota, but Paul Pierce may sit out with a sore ankle.

And the Bruins got it done on Sunday in Buffalo, although it wasn't pretty. They scored two third-period goals and won, 2-0.
