Third world alternate sports universe

Have you ever been watching the Stanley Cup Finals, NBA Finals, World Series or Super Bowl and wondered how the winning team got those fancy championship t-shirts and hats so fast?

To cover their bases, each league makes championship shirts for each team that reaches the finals and has those shirts and hats ready to go regardless of who wins.

Whoops....

Good strategy, even if a bunch of shirts get wasted in the process and some poor kids in a sweatshop in Oprahs basement glare at the TV and go into a berserker rage as they see all their hard work go down the drain when the team they made shirts for loses.

So, where do all those other shirts go?

You see, in impoverished countries like Guatemala, Haiti, Alabama, Canada and Australia, citizens walk around thinking that the New York Jets won two consecutive AFC Championships, that Peyton Manning didnt choke and guided the Colts to another Super Bowl victory by beating the New Orleans Saints, that the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals and that the Texas Rangers are the 2010 World Series Champions.

Upon finding out that some countries think the Jets are reigning AFC champs, Rex Ryan immediately moved to Haiti where he would be worshiped as a Super Bowl hero.

Cromartie, however, was not allowed into the country due to over population issues.

On the prairies of Australia, Paul Hogan and the natives also celebrate the achievements of their favorite team!

Even the kangaroos get in on the celebration!

In Canada, those wacky canucks think the Texas Rangers beat the Giants. Canada recently got more fuel efficient mooses to travel but they still dont have TVs. When they got a shipment of Texas Rangers World Series champions shirts from the USA to keep warm, the fans up in Canada went bonkers.

And for those of you still pretending Super Bowl XLII never happened, somewhere out there in the great big world, Eli Manning didnt avoid that sack, David Tyree didnt make that catch and the Patriots completed the first ever 19-0 season.
