With a certain ex-Red Sox center fielder now being fitted for Yankee pinstripes, it seems like a good time to take stock of Boston's pro teams vs. those in the Big Apple.

Who better than Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy to take a shot at it on "Uno Sports Tonight"?

Red Sox vs. Yankees/Mets: "That's the most interesting to me," Shaughnessy said, adding that he's amazed of the mocking the Yankees for the Jacoby Ellsbury signing. "It's not taken as the disaster the way [Johnny] Damon [going from the Red Sox to the Yankees] was." And the Mets? Who really cares about the Mets.

Celtics vs. Knicks/Nets: Enjoy this while you can, celtics fans, says Shaughnessy "It's not going to stay this way," he said of the struggling Big Apple teams and the surprising C's. Shaughnessy said it's a small sample size so far for the new-look Nets and to remember that even the mighty Miami Heat struggled when their stars first came together. And the Knicks? They's hurting now, but they did knock the Celtics out of the playoffs last spring. So, keep the gloating to a mininum.

Patriots vs. Giants/Jets: "This one is fun to hoot, too," Shaughnessy said. Still, he cautions that Gang Green did hand the 9-3 Pats one of their losses this season and, well, there's that whole Giants vs. Patriots in the Super Bowl thing.
