"I knew they got me."
Those were Marc Fucarile's thoughts as he lay there after the second bomb went off on Boylston Street last year at the Boston Marathon.
"I was scared. I told the people around me. I don't want to die. I got a little boy," he told CSNNE's Trenni Kusnierek as he recalled laying on the sidewalk after the blast.
Fucarile lost a leg and spent 100 days in the hospital. His focus was on returning to his 5-year-old son, Gavin, and his fiance, Jen.
His story resonated with Barstool Sports Boston's President Dave Portnoy and his satirical sports website. Kusinerek talks about the connection they formed in CSNNE's continuing series, "Running Strong," on the Marathon Bombings and the aftermath.
