Heather Abbott of Newport, R.I., one of the Boston Marathon bombing victims, had her left leg amputated below the knee. Yet she's running and kayaking again . . . and the well-wishes she received has helped her reach this point.
"Having, basically, the whole country watching me recover has helped me recover," she said. "Because I've received so much encouragement from people that I don't want to let them down . . .
"I also feel like I've had so many people kind of counting on me to be Boston Strong and to show that the city and the people who were hurt are resilient. And I want to do that."
