Kirk Minihane joins Gary Tanguay on Arbella Early Edition to discuss Dustin Pedroia's recent struggles and future prospects.
Three years ago Pedroia was likely on a path to be a Hall of Famer, say both Minihane and Tanguay. Today, it doesn't seem likely.
"He’s gone from a guy who’s an A/A-minus player to a B player," says Minihane. "Is that the end of the world? No."
Injuries are the biggest culprit of Pedroia's downfall says Minihane, citing recent wrist, thumb and foot injuries.
Heading into Friday's action, Pedroia was hitting .231 with only RBI this season.
"I don’t think he ages well," says Minihane. "I think [going forward] he’s a guy who’ll be good. He’ll never be great again. I think you’ve seen the best of Pedroia."
Red Sox fans hope Pedroia can prove otherwise with plenty of time left in the season.
