McAdam: 'Sox aren't ready to trade Lester'

Red Sox Insider Sean McAdam weighs in on the chances that Jon Lester is traded by the Red Sox to the Royals for OF prospect Wil Myers.

In short, he doesn't see it happening. But let him explain why:

"I don't think the Red Sox are ready to trade Jon Lester," McAdam said. "In fact, if you look at the reporting on this story, it's clear that the offer came from Kansas City and not the Red Sox going to the Royals proposing that. How do we know that? Because there's already the admission from the Royals that they have talked to the Tampa Bay Rays about James Shields.

"They have to add a starter as is, but then they have to go out and replace Lester as a front-of-a-rotation starter if they make the trade".

But that doesn't mean McAdam thinks the Sox won't be involved with other trades. In fact, he thinks that there's a chance they could get more calls than they have in a while.

He explains why in the video, so check it out.
