From Comcast SportsNetSOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said sophomore Everett Golson will start at quarterback in the opener Sept. 1 against Navy in Dublin.Golson edged junior Andrew Hendrix for the position."After a lot of practice, lots of film, lots of evaluation, he won the job," Kelly said Thursday. "Andrew did a great job, made great improvements. I'm really pleased with the progress of both those young men. It was a tough decision. If things go the way we're planning it, he'll play the whole game."Also, starting cornerback Lo Wood had surgery Wednesday to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon, and is expected to miss the season. He was injured in practice Monday.
It was a game the Celtics 'had no business winning'. But win they did, and their o.t. takedown of the Clippers was, in the words of A. Sherrod Blakely, 'impressive'.
