Well that didn't take long.
Shortly after LeBron James announced that his four-year vacation in Miami was over and he was heading back to Cleveland, sources announced that Chris Bosh was re-signing with the Heat. Bosh is expected to sign a max deal with Miami, re-upping for five years and $118 million.
That's bad news for the Rockets, who were already clearing cap space in an effort to bring the big man to Houston.
SI's Chris Mannix says the Bulls have reached out to Dwyane Wade to see if he might be interested in leaving South Beach. If Wade were to jump ship, that could impact Carmelo Anthony's decision as well.
Anthony is said to be deciding between the Bulls and Knicks, and a partnership with Wade and Derrick Rose might be too good to pass up.
"If Carmelo goes [to Chicago], especially with LeBron defecting back to Cleveland, they become the instant favorites in the Eastern Conference," says Mannix. "What I’ve been told, that’s something Carmelo is strongly considering at the moment."
Now that The King is back in Cleveland, the rest of the free agent A-listers are scurrying to secure their next big contracts.
Boston is in need of some offseason fireworks if any of those A-listers are interested... just putting it out there... anyone? anyone? Bueller?
