BOSTON — It's a slow time around the NBA right now, but there's plenty to rejoice about today - the 80th birthday of our very own Tommy Heinsohn!
When you think of the all-time greats to have donned a Boston Celtics jersey, it's hard to come up with a list and not include Heinsohn.
Not only was he among the best to play for the franchise, but one of the few to have won titles both as a player and as a head coach.
And when you factor in his post-playing career, Heinsohn has been with the team in some capacity for all 17 championships.
But for those not old enough to remember him as a player or even a coach, there's more to the man than Tommy Points!
Here's a glimpse at the championship years in Heinsohn's Hall of Fame career which includes eight titles as a player (1957, 1959-1965) and another two as a coach (1974, 1976).
