Haggerty's Morning Skate: Vermette's short, sweet Chitown stay

Share

Here are links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while hoping my 401K is still in one piece after today’s stock market collapse.

*Ken Campbell says that Antoine Vermette’s stay in Chicago was a short one, but it was very, very sweet with the Blackhawks.

*Nothing reveals a love of Mexican food like a taco tattoo, and Eddie Lack is the kind of guy willing to have one of those.

*Yahoo! Sports ranks the top forwards in fantasy hockey and the Bruins don’t have a single one mentioned in any category aside from David Krejci being overrated. Ouch.

*Christian Ehrhoff signs a one year deal with the LA Kings for $1.5 million, and should be a natural stopgap replacement for the incarcerated Slava Voynov.

*Phil Kessel might now be a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, but he said he’ll “always consider Toronto home.” It only took him two months to actually say it.

*A fine was announced for the Russian hockey team after they exited the ice prior to the Canadian national anthem at the world championships.

For something completely different: a softball player shows off a pretty sweet trick move off the hitting tee.
