BOSTON — The Boston Celtics welcome back veterans Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the starting lineup tonight against the Washington Wizards.

Garnett has missed the last eight games due to inflammation in his left foot, while Pierce has missed Boston's loss to Cleveland on Friday because of soreness in his left ankle.

"It'll be nice to look down the bench and see more guys down there," said Celtics coach Doc Rivers.

With Garnett and Pierce back, the Celtics starting lineup will consist of them along with Avery Bradley, Jeff Green and Brandon Bass.

It will be interesting to see who will be the first big man off the bench for the Celtics tonight, Chris Wilcox who started in Garnett's absence, or Shavlik Randolph who has come on strong recently by providing a much-needed jolt of energy.

In Boston's last game, Randolph had a career-high 16 points. And on March 29 against Atlanta, he tied his career high in rebounds with 13.
