It's soccer's great one-upmanship, the lobbing of corruption allegations between FIFA's presidential candidates, all stemming from the great choice to hold World Cup 2022 in the 110-degree heat of Qatar. And you thought Zdeno Chara was dehydrated.

Qatari challenger Mohamed Bin Hammamm faces an ethics hearing based on alleged bribes issued during a trip to Trinidad, homeland of world-class singer Nikki Minaj.

Embarrassing, right? Like Nikki Minaj needs more money.

Incumbent Sepp Blatter says he takes no joy in seeing Bin Hammamm undergo "public humiliation" before having his day in a Swiss court. Blatter also denies conspiring to investigate Bin Hammamm, which has effectively made this a one-man race.

Check that; could soon be a no-man race (via USA TodayAP):

The Qatari challenger says evidence submitted to FIFA suggests Blatter "was informed of, but did not oppose, payments allegedly made to members of the Caribbean Football Union."

Now we see the corruption inherent in the system. Aside Come and see the corruption inherent in the system!
