FOXBORO -- Reggie Bush feels like the Miami Dolphins are heading in the right direction.
Having won their last two games, Bush is hoping that they can carry their newfound chemistry into next season. That would certainly start with a win over the Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium, in what will be Miami's final game of the year.
"It means a lot," said Bush when asked about the possibility of finishing with an 8-8 record, in a conference call on Wednesday. "It's very important. And obviously this is a team that we're going to see twice a year. So anytime you're playing against one of your divisional opponents, the games always mean a little bit extra, because you see them twice a year. We know that, definitely, winning this game could carry over into next season."
The Dolphins will also be motivated by what the Patriots are still fighting for: a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Bush said, on Wednesday, that his offensive coordinator brought up what's on the line for New England.
"It's definitely something that I think we're aware of, and obviously there's still a lot at stake here for them especially," said Bush. "So it makes the game interesting and it makes it fun. And we still have a job to do as well. And even thought we're not going to make it to the playoffs, we still have to show up, we still have to finish strong. So that's one thing that I think everybody's focused on here, right now."
