The Phil Jackson Era has ended in Los Angeles and now begins the Mike Brown Erathough it could be delayed by a gasp!lockout.

The hiring seemed innocent enough with several writers saying Brown could be a great fit for the Lakers.

And then theres USA Today who posed the question: Should the Lakers have consulted Kobe Bryant about the new coach?

Seems like a lot of people think the Lakers should have.

Hell, even the teams VP Jim Buss admitted that they shouldve consulted Kobe.

Per CBSSports.com:

"We really don't consult the players on these matters," Buss said. "Obviously, we have to select somebody who has a reputation that players would be happy with. But to ask a direct player to select a particular coach, that's general manager territory."

And, of course, Bryant offered a no comment when asked about Brown being hired.

Whoops! Looks like someone needs a diaper change.

It makes sense to confer with your franchise player, especially when he has about a million rings on his fingers. But we do wonder what other importantand trivialdecisions Kobe has a say in.

Creating next years Lakers schedule.

Were sure hell be penning in an early tee-time next Spring.

What movies to go see. The team learned the hard way when they chose Hangover II when Kobe wanted to see Bridesmaids.

Paper or plastic?

And finally, choosing a toilet paper brand.

Or, better yet....

Were thinking Kobes a fold-over guy.
