Comcast SportsNet Unveils "Boston's Toughest" Series

BURLINGTON, MA, August 11, 2014 – Beginning tonight, Comcast SportsNet will unveil a new television series entitled “Boston’s Toughest” which will take a look at the toughest athletes in Boston sports history with a panel of experts breaking it down.

The unveiling of “Boston’s Toughest”, presented by New England Ford Dealers, will begin tonight with nightly vignettes airing in Sports Tonight, on CSNNE.com, and in Sports Sunday, with several of Boston’s most well-known athletes being introduced and discussed each night. Hosted by Comcast SportsNet’s Tom E. Curran, the show will feature a panel of experts who will break down the toughest of the tough. Panelists will include Abby Chin, Steve Buckley, Andy Gresh, Gary Tanguay, Mike Felger, Marc Bertrand, Bob Ryan, Jessica Moran, Michael Holley, Trenni Kusnierek, Mike Giardi, Fred Toucher, and Bob Neumeier.

Fans will have an opportunity to interact online at CSNNE.com and via social media at #bostonstoughest, offering their own ideas and opinions. The vignettes will culminate with a 30-minute special episode of “Boston’s Toughest” on Sunday, August 18th at 8:30PM, which will also invite viewers to engage with the panelists in discussion and debate.

“Boston’s Toughest” will focus on Boston’s professional sports teams and the players/legends from each who are worthy of recognition for the “tough” title. Following are some of the athletes who will be discussed:

· PATRIOTS - John Hannah, Logan Mankins, Steve Grogan
· RED SOX - Dustin Pedroia, Butch Hobson, Curt Schilling
· BRUINS - Terry O'Reilly, Shawn Thornton, Cam Neely
· BEST OF THEREST - Marvin Hagler, Bill Rodgers, Rocky Marciano

CSNNE.com, the online home for Comcast SportsNet, will feature the vignettes throughout the week and will invite viewers to engage through Social Media chatter each night. Additionally, the site will have video and write-ups surrounding “Boston’s Toughest” during the week leading up to and throughout the stand-alone special.
