Each day, the Comcast SportsNet staff gathers in the early afternoon to discuss that evening's Arbella Early Edition show. And each afternoon, Gary Tanguay will post the minutes of that meeting, giving you an idea of what to expect on that night's show, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
DATE: Thursday, May 8, 2014
SITE: CSNNE Conference Room
TOPIC: Arbella Early Edition Content
ATTENDING: Bill Walsh – Producer. John Zannis – Executive Producer. Trenni Kusnierek – Co-host. Jimmy Canada – Clubhouse Boy. Kevin Miller – Senior News Director and featuring ... Gary Tanguay
Embarrassing moment today for me. While sporting a t-shirt from J Crew that I paid too much for I leaned back in my chair exposing my hairy navel. Not a pretty sight. Kevin made the initial sighting then Trenni chimed in with, “Gross!” Sorry-no washboard here.
I do have to get to the gym.
Bill led us off with the rundown of guests. First up Dave Gaucher will check in live from Montreal to set the table for tonight’s Game 4. Gauch will tell us what Claude was up to in practice today with all of the line changes. Great talking point here. Gasper last night said changing lines is a desperate move and Felger said he had no problem swapping Soderberg and Kreji to get that first line going. In today’s meeting John made a good point that the Chicago Blackhawks changed things up last year and won The Cup.
We will also ask Gauch if we under estimated Montreal’s talent. I think we have. This is not the Canadiens teams of the past that flip, flop and dive their way to a win. Right now they have simply outplayed the Bruins.
There was much debate about the B block. Do we talk hockey with Gresh or go straight to NFL Draft? Nobody in town is better at talking draft than Gresh. However, Trenni said she hates Michel Therrien, the Montreal coach. I said it seems that he has become the Canadien to hate. So, we will let Gresh tee off on him and then get to the draft.. Shefter reports the Pats may trade down-shocking. Andy will tell us if he expects the Pats to go either offensive or defensive line. Right now that is the popular theory but who knows.
The draft story that tells us all we need to know about the draft was when the Pats picked Logan Mankins – an unknown left tackle from Fresno State. NO ONE saw that coming, NO ONE knew who he was and the rest his history.
In the C block, Trenni will move to the Ford Focus Touch Screen and Gresh will tell us what he thinks is the best draft in the BB era and I will give you the worst.
As always, this is the show on paper. Watch at 6:30 or On Demand and find out what happens live.
