Each day, the Comcast SportsNet staff gathers in the early afternoon to discuss that evening's Arbella Early Edition show. And each afternoon, Gary Tanguay will post the minutes of that meeting, giving you an idea of what to expect on that night's show, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

DATE: Monday, May 19, 2014
SITE: CSNNE Conference Room
TOPIC: Arbella Early Edition Content
ATTENDING: Jeff “The Meat Man” Capostosto; John “The Soup” Zannis; Kevin “Chips and Salsa” Miller; Jason “Whatever is in my bottom left hand drawer” Levine, and Kirk “On The Border” Minhane And featuring . . . Gary "Fried Clams" Tanguay.

1. The big debate today between your fearless host and the producers was the relevance of the Red Sox. My head and heart are so into what might happen tomorrow night I cannot think of anything else.

2. The Kevin Love rumor doesn’t really interest me. Sure, he's a very good player, but he's not the next Russell, Hondo/Cowens, Bird, KG or Pierce. If he was, Minnesota would have been in the playoffs and don’t tell me about his double-doubles or that the West is tougher than the East. If he had the ability to carry a team, Minnesota would’ve been in the postseason. To me, it's all about picks one, two and three. Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker could become franchise players and lead a team to a championship. Without another star player by his side, Love will make the Celtics better but not championship-caliber.

I WANT THE NEXT FRANCHISE PLAYER AND KEVIN LOVE IS NOT IT. Embiid, Wiggins and Parker COULD be. I’ll roll the dice with them.

3. So, back to the Red Sox. Kirk and I will talk with Felger about the panic that seems to setting in at Fenway. I don’t care if players and fans panic; I want Ben Cherington to remain calm. DO NOT get sucked into a Stephen Drew deal with Scott Boras. Let Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. play every day and experience the MLB school of hard knocks.

4. Bob Ryan, THE COMMISSIONER, will join us to talk about Love. I'm interested to hear what he thinks about Love and this year’s draft. Bob is must-see television on this topic.

5. Then Kirk and I will rank the upcoming sporting events like the Belmont, NBA Draft and Stanley Cup/NBA Finals.

Let me know what you think on Kevin Love @gary_tanguay.

That's the show on paper. Find out what happens for real at 6:30 p.m.
