BOSTON -- Phil Kessel will have to wait -- again -- to get revenge on the Bruins. But Tyler Seguin couldn't wait to show his hometown team what it missed out on.

On Thursday night Kessel had his seventh goal-less game against Boston, and saw his plus-minus rating against the Bruins drop to minus-7, since being traded by the B's to Toronto for a package of draft choices that included Tyler Seguin. And Seguin, who was raised 30 minutes outside Toronto and rooted for the Maple Leafs growing up, scored a goal as the Bruins defeated the Leafs, 2-0.
Kessel had 6 of Torontos first 12 shots-on-goal in the game, but he -- and the rest of his teammates --- couldn't beat Tim Thomas, who stopped all 20 shots that he faced and improved to 5-0 on the season.
Patrice Bergeron put the Bs up 1-0 with his first goal of the season, and the 100th of his career, on a power play at 19:18 of the first period. Bergeron was set up at the top of the left circle and Zdeno Chara sent over a pass from the right point, which Bergeron one-timed into the top-right corner of the net.
Seguin's goalhis second of the seasoncame with 7:34 left in the second period, after a nice cross-ice feed from Dennis Seidenberg from the right point. Seguin received the pass from the left circle, where he was wide open, and let go a quick-release wrist shot the found the back of the net after hitting the blocker of Toronto goaltender Jonas Gustavsson.
