FOXBORO - Key Patriots on both sides of the ball were missing from the early portion of Patriots practice Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who's going on two weeks of inactivity because of a balky back, was not on the field. Neither were running back Danny Woodhead (left ankle), wide receiver Julian Edelman and tight end Aaron Hernandez (MCL). Hernandez has missed two games with his injury. The initial timetable for his return was four-to-six weeks. If he's able to come back for the Jets game, his three-week convalesence will be a big boon for the Patriots. As expected, Jerod Mayo wasn't at practice either (MCL). Neither was Sebastian Vollmer (back) and defensive lineman Mike Wright (concussion).
