If the end is near, Wakefield isn't thinking about it

NEW YORK -- With three days remaining in the regular season, there's a very distinct possibility Tim Wakefield has pitched his last game for the Red Sox.

But the veteran knuckleballer isn't letting those thoughts enter his mind.

"No. No. No," he responded when the subject was raised after Sunday's 6-2 loss in Game 1 of the Red Sox' doubleheader against the Yankees.

"Gotta prepare for tomorrow and try to be some help in the bullpen, if needed, in the next three games in Baltimore."
