The Patriots announced today that linebacker Jeff Tarpinian has been signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. In a corresponding move, the Pats released linebacker A.J. Edds.

With a vacant practice squad spot, the Patriots were able to sign rookie cornerback Josh Victorian.

Tarpinian signed with the Patriots in July as a rookie free agent out of Iowa. He was released signed to the practice squad last week.

Edds was claimed off waivers and awarded to the Patriots earlier this month after being released by the Dolphins. He played in 10 plays against the Chargers and also saw some action on special teams.

Victorian was in training camp with Baltimore after signing with the Ravens as a rookie free agent out of Louisiana Tech.
