Marc Savard will have his name etched into the Stanley Cup along with the rest of the 2010-2011 Stanley Cup champion Bruins, according to a hockey source.Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli confirmed the good bit of Savard news to CSNNE.com on Monday afternoon during the Bruins Annual Golf Tournament at the International in Bolton, Ma."Savard will be on the Cup," said Chiarelli, who didn't give any update on the chances of either Shane Hnidy or Steve Kampfer also getting their named etched on the Stanley Cup along with the rest of the Bruins.

Post-concussion syndrome limited Savard to just 25 regular-season appearances in the 2010-2011 season, which is 16 shy of the usually required 41 regular season appearances with the Stanley Cup champs - or an appearance in the CupFinals -that the NHL requires for getting a name on the Cup.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said the Bruins would do all they could for the NHL to make an exception for Savard (as well as defenseman Steven Kampfer). In the injured center's case, the team's efforts were not put to waste.

Chiarelli said last month that the Bruins do not expect Savard to play next season as he continues to battle the after effects of concussions suffered during the last two seasons.
