MIAMI - The Patriots left five behind on the trip to Miami. Among them, right tackle Sebastian Vollmer and wide receiver Taylor Price. The absence of Vollmer was anticipated. He missed the final preseason game with a back injury and hasn't practiced in some time. Rookie Nate Solder figures to get the start in place of Vollmer. Tough assignment for him having to line up across from a diverse and multiple Dolphins defense featuring Cameron Wake (14 sacks last season). Price (hamstring) who had an outstanding preseason, played in the last game of the practice games but has been laid low as well. Matt Slater and Julian Edelman will move into more prominent roles behind the three top wideouts, Deion Branch, Wes Welker and Chad Ochocinco. Ryan Wendell, Jeff Tarpinian and Jermaine Cunningham will also be out on Monday night. Tom E. Curran can be reached at tcurran@comcastsportsnet.com.
