CSNNE.com Patriots InsiderFollow @tomecurranEric Moore's feel-good story appears to be over, at least here in New England. The Patriots have released Moore, a six-year veteran who was signed by the team last December after his Florida Tuskers of the UFL won their league title. Moore provided some of the best pressure the Patriots received from any front-seven player over the season's final few weeks. He had two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery to go along with 13 tackles. But the bolstered defensive line this preseason spelled doom for Moore. Andre Carter, Shaun Ellis and Mark Anderson have been added and Mike Wright is back from injury. Moore, 32, got squeezed out in the numbers game. Here are shorties on the other guys informed of their release so far. The Patriots likely harbor hopes of re-signing some of these players to their practice squad. Tiquan Underwood
The wide receiver with the high fade is out after just a few days with the club. He had four catches in the preseason finale but he drew a formation penalty on a punt that wiped out a muffed punt returned for a touchdown by Gary Guyton. Probably didn't kill his chances; certainly didn't help. Landon Cohen
The 6-3, 300-pounder also signed in December of last year. He's 25 and has no practice squad eligibility. He certainly appears to be able to help another team. Alex Silverstro
First-year defensive lineman signed as rookie free agent from Rutgers. Didn't play much. Has practice squad eligibility. Markell Carter
A defensive end taken in the sixth round out of Scottie Pippen's alma mater.... right, Central Arkansas.... very good. Has practice squad possibilities. Aaron Lavarias
A pass-rushing defensive lineman who came out of Idaho as a rookie free agent. He could be back as well.
