Marcus Cannon, a fifth-round pick from TCU who's recovering from non-Hodgkins lymphoma, has been placed on the reservenon-football injury list according to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com. Cannon, who underwent chemotherapy over the summer, will be unable to practice with the team until after the sixth week of the season. The Patriots will have a three-week window in which to allow him to begin practicing. After he starts working out, the team has another three weeks to decide whether it wants to activate him. Cannon, a massive 6-foot-5, 358-pounder, projects as a right guard for the Patriots. He's got outstanding strength and is very nimble for his size (5.2 40, 30-inch vertical during pre-draft workouts). He was at the Patriots Kickoff Gala Tuesday night and said he's feeling pretty good at this point.
