Report: Williams clears waivers, sent to Pawtucket

Reliever Randy Williams has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Pawtucket, according to WEEI's Alex Speier.

Williams was designated for assignment to make room on the roster for Ryan Lavarnway.

In 8.1 innings at the major league level this season, the 35-year-old had one loss and an ERA of 6.48. Through 25 innings with Pawtucket, he has a 11 record and an ERA of 1.44.
