Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork released astatement last week, via Twitter, acknowledging the NCAAs investigation of theUniversity of Miami football program and the allegations that a Hurricanes booster provided Wilfork illegal benefits duringhis time in the Miami program, including two SUVs.

Wilfork spoke in front of his locker at Gillette Stadium, prior to Mondays practice, and said that he was moving forward in anattempt to not be a distraction to the New England Patriots.

Thats where Im at withit. Ive moved forward. Im done with that situation, and Im just focused onmy football career. One thing I dont want to do is be a distraction to thisteam, to this organization. And I wont be that.

My teammates stuck behind me 100 percent, and my family andthe organization. So Ive moved forward definitely towards the Detroit Lionsnow. And it feels good to be around a great group of guys. It feels real good.
