FOXBORO - The Albert Watch has been nipped in the bud. Apanicked media reactionfollowed Saturday's missed practice by Albert Haynesworth. His absenceand the admission by Bill Belichick that no league rules werekeeping him off the field led to speculation about the newly acquired defensive tackle's condition and willingness to play. But before the cries of "he doesn't love football" could reach a fever pitch, the mercurial Haynesworth ran the team's conditioning run Sunday morning and was cleared to practice. He was on the field as practice began at 10:30 a.m. How much Haynesworth is able to participate in training camp remains a slippery answer. Because of the lockout, many players were away from team medical supervision (trainers were off-limits; team doctors were not). Haynesworth, who had no love for the operation in Washington, likely didn't spend a lot of time with doctors down there in the offseason. And a player of his size (380-ish pounds) and years of heavy use needs offseason maintenance. You can look for Haynesworth to be eased into practices over the next couple of weeks as his body gets into football shape. Tom E. Curran can be reached at tcurran@comcastsportsnet.com.
