BOSTON - The Boston Celtics followed up their first-round pick JaJuan Johnson with another Purdue Boilermaker, selecting ETwaun Moore with the 55th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Were very fortunate, said the Celtics' president of basketball operations, Danny Ainge. We got two really good, productive college players, mature kids, great character and attitude. Weve got some shooting, got some length, and I think theyre a good fit for us.

After getting to know JaJuan Johnson, let's find out who ETwaun Moore is.
The Basics
Position: Guard
Height: 6-4
Weight: 191
Born: February 25, 1989
Hometown: East Chicago, IN
College: Purdue University

Collegiate Accolades
Like Johnson, Moore played four years at Purdue. Last season he averaged 18.0 points (44.7 FG, 40.0 3PG, 70.9 FT), 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 turnovers. He was named an honorable mention AP All-American and was a Wooden Award finalist.

Ainges Take
ETwaun is a good shooter, good all-around player, a tough kid, good experience, he said. He had a big game this year. I saw the game he was playing in and had 38 against Ohio State. Terrific talent.

How He Will Complement the Celtics
Moore is a shooting guard, and while he can also play some point guard, Ainge noted his scoring abilities. Should Moore make the roster, adding an offensive contributor to the bench could spell the minutes of veteran Ray Allen, a role the Celtics have to address next season.

Hes played strictly a two, but he can handle the ball some. But hes a scorer, said Ainge. Hes only 6-3 but hes extremely long, long-armed, and hes at terrific scorer.

Ainge likes the fact that both Moore and Johnson can fulfill their roles on the offensive and defensive ends.

Offense is very important, he said. Theres guys that play great offense, theres guys that are great defensive players, and theres guys that we refer to as both ends of the court players. We think we got two of those guys. But one is not any more important than the other.
Random Fact
While JaJuan will be the fifth Johnson to play for the Celtics, Moore will only be the second. Mikki Moore appeared in 24 games for the Celtics during the 2008-09 season.
