NHL: No suspension for Bruins' Boychuck

The Toronto Globe and Mail reported Tuesday afternoon that Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk will not be suspended for his hit on the Canucks' Mason Raymond in Game 6.

Raymond suffered a vertebrae fracture in the collision and will miss Game 7 Wednesday night. The Canucks, who lost defenseman Aaron Rome to a four-game suspension for his hit on Nathan Horton on Game 3, were seeking for Boychuk to be ruled out of Game 7.

The NHL's acting disciplinarian, Mike Murphy, told the Globe and Mail via e-mail that a review of the play led officials to decide it was an "awkward collision" and not worthyof a suspension.
