PawSox notes: Lackey to throw about 70 pitches

PAWTUCKET, R.I.Right-hander John Lackey, on the disabled list since May 12 with a right elbow strain, is making his first rehab start with the PawSox. Facing the Orioles Norfolk Tides, Lackey is expected to throw about 70 pitches.

Darnell McDonald, on the DL since Thursday with a left quad strain, is also making beginning his rehab assignment. He is playing center field, batting third. McDonald is expected to be with the PawSox for at least 10 days.

Right-hander Kevin Millwood, who signed a minor league contract with the Sox earlier this month, has joined the PawSox. He is expected to start Wednesdays game.

With right-hander Bobby Jenks coming off the DL, right-hander Michael Bowden has returned to the PawSox.
