Hey soccer players and fans, listen up!
Ever wanted to play soccer on the Gillette Stadium field?
Have at least three friends that share that dream?
Well, you're in luck, because MLS Futbolito is returning to Gillette Stadium on July 17, and you could be one of the lucky teams being showcased at halftime of the New England Revolution - Philadelphia Union game -- that is, if you make it that far.
MLS Futbolio is MLS' official 4-v-4 tournament, and highlights a series of all-day events that lead up to the soccer game.
Futbolito is an authentic, multicultural grassroots tournament that showcases talented local players in the region," Revolution Vice President of Business Development Craig Tornberg said. "Were looking forward to another great day of small-sided soccer and then transitioning that excitement to the Revs-Union match immediately after the tournament," Tornberg added.
The tournament is open to all levels and ages of players (they will be divided accordingly), and teams can consist of up to seven player -- four on the field, and three substitutes.
Teams will compete in a round robin format, with the possibility of advancing to single-elimination championship playoff.
Registration for the Adult Premier Division is 150 per team, and 120 per team for all other participants.
The registration price includes a ticket to the Revolution-Union match, a t-shirt, and the chance to win prizes -- including 3,000 in cash prizes for the first and second place teams int he Premier Division.
