MIAMIDoc Rivers just met with the media before Game 2, and here are a few highlights:

First things first, as A. Sherrod Blakely reported this afternoon, Shaquille ONeal wont make his return to the court tonight.

No, Rivers said when asked about the big mans availability. Hes out. Hes out.

Rivers was also asked about what his team must do on Tuesday that they didnt on Sunday, and the coach laid out three keys.

It would be nice to run our game plan, then at least wed know whether what were doing is right or wrong, he said. You got to run them off threes. You cant turn the ball over and then we just have to move the ball offensively. Those would be the three things.

Everything else, we were pretty happy with. You know Dwyane and LeBron are capable of having big games. We knew that going into the series. Theyre capable of doing that tonight, too. But you can still win games when that happens.

He also touched on Miamis defense, especially their speed and, in turn, recovery time.

Theyre a terrific defensive team, Rivers said. Their closing speed is what impressed me. Its amazing how quickly they can recover. Even out of a bad spot sometimes.

The game tips off at 7 p.m.
