Coming in to the 2012 season, the Patriots have a wealth of talent at the quarterback position, with Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallet all under contract.

Though some wonder if the Patriots are developing Ryan Mallett as a potential trade chip, Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network thinks the Patriots should hold on to the young quarterback.

"The one thing you don't want to do is trade away a potentially good player, said Lombard appearing on Quickslants. "I thought it was amazing they were able to get Ryan Mallett in the third round last year. I think that'll prove to be an outstanding pick three or four years down the road. I think I'd hold on to Ryan Mallett at least for this year."
