PHILADELPHIAGlen Davis was on the floor with the Boston Celtics this morning for their pregame walk-through.

Don't get too excited, Celtics fans.

Davis said he won't play Friday night.

He's hopeful that he'll do enough today to where the coaches and medical staff will allow him to participate in practice on Saturday.

"He looked better," said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. "He didn't do enough, honestly. It was skeleton work. You can't tell from that. It was just skeleton offense; nothing strenuous."

Still, Rivers has seen enough to where he thinks Davis will return to the floor on Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks.

"We don't know that for sure," Rivers said.

Prior to this morning's shoot-around, Davis sounded optimistic about returning sooner rather than later.

"It is getting better," he told CSNNE.com.

Davis suffered a left knee injury in the closing seconds of a 115-103 win over Phoenix last week.

Friday night will be his fourth missed game.
