BOSTONIt's no secret that President Barack Obama is a huge NBA fan. And not surprisingly, the Chicago native's favorite team is the Bulls.
Still, that didn't phase the Celtics players in the least bit when they had a chance to meet the President earlier this week.
Mr. Obama met with the players and coaches prior to a Democratic Fund raising event at the Museum of Fine Arts.
"It was nice," said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. "It was a neat thing. Whenever you meet a President, that's always nice."
When asked what did he tell the President, Rivers quipped, "Not to root for Chicago all the time."
According to both Rivers and Ray Allen, Mr. Obama thanked them for the "gift" better known as Tom Thibodeau, the former Celtic assistant-turned-Chicago head coach, who has been instrumental in the Bulls' being right on the Celtics backside for the top spot in the East.

"He talked a lot about the Bulls, I will say that," Rivers said. "That was good."
So was one of the last questions asked by Mr. Obama to Rivers.
Do you need anything?
"When the President asks you that, you can say a lot of things," Rivers said. "I just told him I'd like to secure a date to seem him again in celebration of an NBA championship. That would be nice."
