BOSTONAs the Boston Celtics arrived at the TD Garden Wednesday afternoon for their usual pregame walk-through, Doc Rivers had a number in mind.
It was 20, a number he believed should represent the number of shot attempts taken against the Phoenix Suns by Kevin Garnett.
Although Garnett only got 14 shots off, it didn't matter.
He was far and away the most dominant player on the floor in Boston's 115-103 win over Phoenix.
Garnett, who just a couple weeks ago vowed to be more aggressive offensively, kept his word on Wednesday by pouring in a season-high 28 points along with 11 rebounds for his 22nd double-double this season.
That, coupled with a poor showing in Boston's 88-71 loss at Phoenix on Jan. 28, definitely provided Garnett with added incentive to play well.

"I just didn't like the way I played last time I played the Suns," said Garnett, who had 18 points in the loss at Phoenix prior to being ejected from the game. "I made a point this time to play better, and that's what I did."
Did he ever.
For years, we have seen Garnett put on show-stopping performances.
Wednesday was one of those nights, as Garnett thoroughly outplayed Channing Frye who had to leave the game in the second half after colliding with teammate Vince Carter.
"He played great defensively," Gentry said. "And offensively, made everything going to the basket, made some jump shots; he's tough to guard in those situations."
