A league source has confirmed that Troy Murphy will sign with the Celtics.

There were conflicting reports about Murphy's destination -- Yahoo! Sports' Mark Spears reported on Twitter that he would sign with Miami, while Marc Stein of ESPN.com had Murphy headed to Boston -- and the source confirmed Stein's report.

Spears later quoted Murphy's agent, Dan Fegan as saying he was responsible for the mistake: "This is my fault. I was getting dozens of texts and responded 'yes' on Miami when I meant to respond to 'yes' on Boston. I apologize for the mistake."
