CSNNE.comSALT LAKE CITY Just when you think Delonte West is about to turn the corner on his cursed season, another injury gets in the way.Doc Rivers informed the media at Monday's shoot that West sprained an ankle on Sunday and will miss tonight's game with the Utah Jazz."Its not serious, but he sprained his ankle in a skeleton drill," Rivers said. "Its not a bad sprain. If its a playoff game then, yeah, hell play but you know how we are now, so hell miss today and maybe even Wednesday, but then hell be back after that."It was unfortunate timing for West, who was coming off perhaps his most impressive game of the season, Saturday night in LA, when he scored nine points, dished out five assists and ran the point for much of the fourth quarter.
"He was pretty good the other night," Rivers said. "He was great. He ran the club, and I thought his leadership won the game for us down the stretch. He was calling the sets. Hes very comfortable running the point and running the show."The Celtics are now left with Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley as active point guards. In other injury news, Rivers didn't have much to report on Shaquille O'Neal and Jermaine O'Neal."Havent heard much," he said. "Just know that theyre working. Theyre getting closer. Jermaines a ways out, and Shaqs getting closer. I dont think hell play when we get back but hes a lot closer."The Celtics tip-off tonight at 9 p.m. EST.
