The Patriots made a few minor moves to shake up their coaching staff Thursday.
They hired George Godsey away from University of Central Florida to be an offensive assistant. Godsey was the running backs coach at UCF and joined the coaching staff there as a graduate assistant in 2004 under current Patriots' offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.
Before that, Godsey was a quarterback at Georgia Tech from 1998 through 2001. He set a Georgia Tech record for passing yards in a season under O'Brien in 2001 with 3,085. He played one season in the Arena Football League with the Tampa Bay Storm.

Some other moves to the Patriots' coaching staff:
Harold Nash was promoted to head strength and conditioning coach, taking over for Mike Woicik, who was hired last week by the Dallas Cowboys. Nash was an assistant strength coach since 2005. He also assisted in coordinating the Patriots' player development programs.
Brian Ferentz, a coaching assistant last season, was promoted to tight ends coach.
