BOSTON -- On a day when the Boston Celtics lost Marquis Daniels for at least a month because of a bruised spinal cord, Delonte West delivered some optimistic news.

West expects to return to action in the Celtics' first game after the All-Star Break.

If all goes according to his schedule, he would play February 22 against the Golden State Warriors on the road.

That's the update that I have after seeing the CT scan, he told CSNNE.com. Give it another week or so and I can get back to it. I'm happy with those results.

West has been sidelined since breaking his right (non-shooting) wrist on November 24 against the New Jersey Nets. He had the brace removed last month and has been participating in team shoot-arounds. He is anxiously awaiting the next Celtics practice.

When we do have a practice, I think I'm going to be able to go full contact, he said.

West, who served a 10-game suspension to start the season, had played in just five games before suffering the injury. He was averaging 6.8 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 17.6 minutes off the bench.

The Celtics have looked forward to Wests return the entire season, and it cant come soon enough after Daniels injury.

Said West, Were keeping him in our prayers right now and hope everything works out.
