Report: Celtics very interested in Redick

While earlier in the season it was apparent that the Celtics would need a bigger presence down low, it appears as though their needs have stretched to the perimeter.

Boston lost All-Star shooting guard Ray Allen to the Heat in free agency, and hasn't been able to fully make up for it with the likes of offseason acquisitions Jason Terry and Courtney Lee.

For that reason, Celtics GM Danny Ainge is reportedly on the prowl.

From ESPN's Marc Stein:

Hearing Celts, even before season-worst 7-for-32 shooting from 15 feet in NYK loss, have ramped up their interest in Magic's J.J. Redick

Size obviously Celts' priority if they do deal before Feb. 21 trade deadline but word is they hope to work way into Redick mix if they can

Redick is shooting the highest percentage of the field in his career, at .458, but he's also taking (and hitting) the most three-pointers of his career (2.3-5.9, .398). That percentage is right on the mark with his career average.

On the season, Redick is averaging 14.9 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.3 rebounds, all career-highs, while coming off the bench for Orlando.
